Advanced Web Ranking – A Product Review
SEO is a fascinating and enormous subject, one which webmasters ignore at their own risk. There are many facets to SEO techniques, but there is no doubt that doing all the things you need to do in order to get to the top of the search engine results pages can take you many hours a day for a long period of time. Fortunately there are many tools out there that can help you make this work much easier and faster.
For the past couple years, we’ve been working with a relatively new companies that have been trying to build their website’s SEO organically. One of the areas that most businesses have the most problems with is tracking what’s going on with their website and if their efforts are effective Advanced Web Ranking, a website ranking software, solves that problem. As one of the top SEO firms we needed a way to easily track all of our client’s sites as well as our own. After months of research we settled on Advanced Web Ranking.
It’s a program that allows you to track the position of your website for certain search keywords, on several different search engines. Within a week after getting the program installed we created different projects – one with all of the brands on our site, one with all of the keyword phrases I’d been working with, one with some keywords we especially wanted to target – and I started checking a couple of times per week. This was the model we started using for all of our clients sites as well.
Advanced Web Ranking has won a fair share of popularity with website promoters. Even though it’s not the most expensive tracking program out there it performs like it is. Originally the software was designed to monitor website positions but with the course of time this application has evolved, its functionality has been enriched by some new modules and features.
I could go on about the features but let’s talk about the benefits for a minute:
Advanced Web Ranking’s Keyword Analysis module lets users get info concerning keyword density and prominence for each particular HTML element of the webpage. Users can also compare a webpage with one of the competing pages and get some general idea on where webpage content is not up to the mark. When you can see why your competitors are out ranking you it becomes easy to fix.
One of the things that we found most beneficial was the accuracy. Advanced Web Ranking is quite accurate when it comes to monitoring website’s positions for targeted keywords. It lets users keep track of their website’s ranking fluctuations, compare the results of current and previous checks and get all the data accumulated in rankings reports.
Anyone who has spent any time at all running rank reports knows how time consuming the process is. Advanced Web Ranking gives you the ability to schedule when you want the reports run. You also have the ability to export the reports in either a CSV format or HTML.
This is great for us, every Wednesday night the systems runs all of our ranking reports and delivers them to our staff. Thursday we all get together and go over the reports to see where we need to make changes to the SEO campaigns we are running.
Link Building & Management is essential if you want your website to have good traffic volume. Search engines value the number and standing of websites that link to yours. Backlinks are an important consideration in your Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). The more websites that link to yours, the more value search engines will place on your site and the better your overall standing will be.
Advanced Web Ranking received a perfect score in this category. They feature all of our evaluation criteria: link exchange locator, email templates, active link verification, backlink checker, link analysis and customized reports.
Advanced Web Ranking provides visibility into not just who links to your site, but the keywords they use. They also provide competitive intelligence on where your competitors’ links come from. This can be analyzed through Advanced Web Ranking’s graphic reports
As a Google Places expert, I regularly monitor multiple business locations all over the country for a range of keywords. Monitoring Google Places results for 1st page rankings used to be an absolute nightmare in the past, but it’s easy to do using AWR. When setting up any project, one of the first things one can do is set up the specific type of search engines that will be monitored for rankings. In my case, I generally choose Google.com if I’m reviewing US results though it can be set up to monitor other places as well. You can also choose to further localize your search by selecting a local city like Los Angeles for example.
Over a randomized test of 300+ ranking reports over the course of a month, we found that that AWR was accurate 98% of the time, with errors only occurring if a business showed up multiple times on the same results page. Creating ranking reports is also extremely easy, especially given the number of preset reports such as keyword rank, current rank, overview, and the top sites overview.
As you can tell I’m a big fan of Advanced Web Ranking and can honestly say this piece of software has made our lives much simpler.
